Intimate & Casual Fall Farmette Wedding
When Alexis and Brian told me they were looking for a Lyons Farmette wedding photographer, I was all-in from day one. The Farmette is by far one of my favorite wedding venues in Boulder for so many reasons. The venue coordinator, goes above and beyond for the couples that get married there, and I just love working with them. There are so many gorgeous photo locations around the property, from the little creek to the flower gardens to the alpaca enclosure!
Before their Lyons Farmette wedding, Alexis and Brian and I went on a freezing cold hike together in Rocky Mountain National Park for their engagement photos. We kept joking around that we better get nicer weather for their wedding in late September, and we really did!
Their wedding day rolled around with sunshine and perfect fall weather, which is such a blessing at a venue with outdoor reception seating.
I started the day with Alexis and her bridesmaids getting ready in the vintage Airstream trailer, before taking them into the flower garden for photos. Alexis also did a really cute “first look” with her dad, which got all sorts of teary-eyed and emotional. Alexis and Brian did not want to see each other before the ceremony, but luckily this is easy to manage at this venue. There are so many locations for me to choose from when I’m working as a Lyons Farmette wedding photographer, so we were able to keep them separate while still doing all the individual wedding party photos before the ceremony.
Alexis and Brian had planned such a relaxed day, with lots of time to hang out with friends (and pet alpacas!) during cocktail hour. One of my favorite things about being a Lyons Farmette wedding photographer is that this venue makes for beautiful photos of the guests hanging out. The tractor was an especially big hit, with some of the guests deciding that they needed a photo of drinking on top of it – and who was I to say no?
