Farmette Sound Policy

 

  • The Farmette hosts amazing weddings with great dance parties! We just have a few rules in order to be good neighbors!

    All hired DJs and musicians at Lyons Farmette are expected to know, understand, and abide by these policies. If you have further questions please consult the venue manager for that days event. Thank you. 

    Farmette amplification requirements:

    • Amplified music is allowed at the Farmette with a few exceptions. 

    • All bands must follow rental agreement rules - 

    • Drum sets are not allowed

    • Electronic drum sets are allowed.

    • Subwoofers are allowed, but they must be set at a low volume.

    • Our Venue Manager has the authority to lower the overall volume of any music at any time.

    • Music may be amplified outdoors during ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and first dance. 

    • After first dance or 8pm, whichever occurs first, all outdoor music must be played acoustically without amplification. Silent Disco is also allowed. 

    • Amplified music is only allowed INSIDE the barn after this cutoff time. 

    • North side barn doors and windows must remain closed at all times during dancing, don't worry, we have AC!

    • Music ends at 10pm sharp.

    • No Karaoke

    Outdoor Acoustic Rules

    • There shall be no mic’d instruments, and no instruments plugged into an amplifier of any sort.

    • ONE Microphone is allowed for vocals. Multiple singers must share this microphone. 

    • Dynamic microphones (like Shure SM58 for example) are required. 

    • Condenser microphones also pick up instrument sounds and are NOT permitted, if this is found to be the case, we will not allow that microphone to be used.

    • Music must end at 10pm sharp. 

    • Horns: No brass horns (Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, etc) However, clarinets and flutes, with their softer sound and lower volume, work very well at the venue!

    • Percussion: We don’t allow drum sets outdoors, especially bass drums and cymbals. Shakers, brushes, and cajon are allowed. 

    • No Karaoke

    We provide a sound system for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and toasting:

    (1) 600w Roland portable amplifier with 2 microphone/instrument inputs with preamp and RCA input jacks for iPod or laptop computer 

    (1) Speaker stands 

    (2) Wireless SM58 microphone w/ receiver

    (2) Microphone stands 

    We also provide an in-house sound system for the Farmette Barn:


    (1) 4 Channel Mackie MX4 mixing board w/ XLR/stereo ¼” inputs, preamps, phantom power.

    (1) QSC 1600 watt power amplifier 

    (6) JBL passive speakers, 4x 300 watt and 2x 175 watt

    (2) Wireless SM58 microphone w/ receiver
